Newly launched in February 2016, Theolog is a shared catalogue of the John Richard Allison Library (housing the joint collections of Regent College and Carey Theological College), the H. R. MacMillan Library (Vancouver School of Theology), and the Dr. John Micallef Memorial Library (St. Mark’s College). The new Theolog searches libraries worldwide. The holdings of the Allison, MacMillan, and Micallef Libraries appear at the top of the search results list, but you’re able to see the next nearest copies of books and other items, including those held at the University of British Columbia.
You may search the catalogue as a guest. If you wish to view your account, however, you’ll need to sign in using the button in the top right corner. The first time you sign in you’ll need to set a new password by clicking the Set/Reset Password link (please note, your username is your library barcode). Once you’ve signed in, the dropdown box by your name will direct you to your account and to any lists you create while you search.
The new Theolog integrates searches for books and journal articles. Online access to journal articles is through specialized databases to which we subscribe. To include databases in your search, you’ll first need to tell Theolog that you’d like to search databases. Go to Advanced Search (to the right of the Basic Search box) and select the databases you’d like to search. If you’d like Theolog to search all the databases to which the Allison Library subscribes, click the Select All in Group box under All Databases. Then save your changes and conduct your search.
Alternately, you can search databases directly by accessing them through the e-Resources page on the Allison Library website: https://allisonlibrary.regent-college.edu/find/eresources-databases-journals.
Holds must be placed by library staff. To request a hold, please visit the circulation desk or email firstname.lastname@example.org. You’ll receive an email when your hold is ready, and will be asked to collect it at the library at which the item is held.
